The sum of a positive integer is always positive. The sum of two negative integers is always negative.
The sum of a positive integer and a negative integer is sometimes negative, sometimes positive and sometimes
zero. When you are adding a negative and a positive integer, then the answer always has the sign of the
bigger number. If you are adding a positive and a negative integer that have the same number, then it is zero.
Examples: 5+1=6 -5+(-4)=-4 5+(-1)=4 -5+1=-4 -5+5=0
